Ok ok ok!!! I will respond. Yesterday I got hit up with questions about Lauryn Hill’s announcement that she’s preg preg agin gin…with baby #6. Rohan Marley, the father of her five children, said on Twitter that he’s not he’s not the papi…until he says otherwise. Hmmm… Oook? He also debunked rumors that he’s married. Does that mean he’s not married to Lauryn or that he’s never been married? Clearly they have an unordinary (and out of order) love. Anyway, I got into another conversation on FB when I posted to my friend LA’s page the question “What’s wrong with L Boogie having 5 children?” Apparently she’s building a tribe. Some folk said nothing as long as it’s with an unmarried man. Others said Lauryn is too much of a basket case to be having children. Well…ok. Not sure about that one either. I think Lauryn Hill definitely has some challenges. Some of which she admits to bringing upon herself. She is either insane in the membrane or perhaps she too “wears the mask” and is just doing her thing thing and not giving a frenchtoast what people think. Think about it this way.
The DDR: Five kids is a lot, and the fluctuating hormones are enough to drive a take a woman on a trip to Nut City. Some mothers don’t come back from that. Compound this possibility with a Marley connection? And you got yourself one crazy genius. At the end of the day, she told us in “That Thing” she’s “only human”, and “Don’t think I haven’t been through the same predicament.”I guess the bright side is her first 5 kids got the same papa. Maybe she had enough of his cheating ways, and found her some new new. Maybe it was good good and now she’s pregnant. Not sure. Don’t really care. I just want her to respect her audience. Start showing up on time for these damn shows, and do the songs to the original beat so the crowd can follow. I wonder if she’s as conscious as she was before.

To hear that Lauryn may be pregnant with the 6th child does not surprise me. I agree that she must be building a tribe and she may not be finished after she births the 6th.
As for her shows and what we all miss of her from the past. My only wish is that through it all she remains mentally sane and internally at peace. There are many rumors out there with regard to her relationship with Marley and with 5 kids, I hope they are setting a great example as parents. Hopefully, one day we all can rejoice in her comeback and groove to the smooth sounds of Ms Hill. Lastly, through the lens of Lauryn, I often ponder can one ever be too conscious?
