DON’T BE THE LIL’ MAN IN THE BOAT

“Love’s not a mystery. It’s everything.” Common, “Drivin Me Wild,” Finding Forever, 2007.

TRUTH. Happy Monday Daily Dosers! Hope that you all enjoyed your weekend and are still standing tall. Remember today is a new day…on with the present! In times as difficult as these I know that some of us may be going through the motions, whether that be regarding relationships, work, school, family, or friends. If you depend on a higher power, remember that the Universe speaks in different ways. We just have to be open to listening, trusting, and yielding to God’s plans.

I heard this story once of a man who got caught in a storm near his house. Trying to weather the flood that came with the storm, the man sat in his boat praying for God to save him. His neighbor came, and was like “Hey man. C’mon and hop in this bigger boat with my family and me.”  The man said “No thank you. You go on. I’m waiting on the Lord. God will save me.” Perplexed by his response, the neighbor went on to safety. Then a helicopter came to rescue him and he said the same thing.  Then the National Guard came, and he told them the same thing; that God was gonna show up and save him.  The waters continued to rise, so the Guard had to go on so not to drown.  Ultimately the man drowns. When he reaches heaven he asks “God why didn’t you save me?” God replies , “Well dag little man! I sent 3 people to help you. What else did you want me to do?”

The DDR: How many of us ask the Universe to move in our life, but then we allow the spirits of fear, anxiety, worry, and angst to cloud our vision so much that we can’t see when the Universe is moving in our favor?  Don’t be the little man in the boat. Move out of the way! Pay attention to the life support God sends you. Accept it and trust it. Peace and keep faith as you begin your week.
