STAY ON READY

STAY ON READY

“What am I to do now. Where am I to go? Yo Gotti, “On Da Grind,” Life, 2009

JUSTICE. There’s this song that goes something like, “I woke up this morning with my mind set on…” Sometimes the song says set on “Jesus”, “freedom”, or even “change.” Today I want you to complete it with “victory!” Can you imagine waking up, starting your day and then BAM! something crazy happens?! Times like these usually happen to me when I least expect them. This is why I try my best to always live by the Girl Scouts’ motto, “Be prepared.” Yesterday I arrived at my office, and was then asked to come to my mentor’s office.  At the time, I was standing in the line at the post office preparing to mail my mother and sister a package.  She didn’t say why. She just told me to stop by. So I did.  When I walked into the Hip Hop Archive I was greeted by Dr. Morgan. To my left was actor/comedian/philanthropist and fellow homeboy Chris Tucker. I was excited. But more importantly I was happy that I was PRE-PARED, i.e. in the right place at the right time doing the right thing. It was one of many daily highlights.

Change is upon us Daily Dosers.  What is happening in your life to let you know the Universe is galvanizing its forces to bring about a new day in your life?  I know I might sound like all is good in my life. But it’s not because everything is all good. It’s because I am CHOOSING to be as PRE-PARED and as POSITIVE as I can.  When I do, it just seems like the Universe shows me glimpses “better”.

The DDR: We have to BE PREPARED for change. We have to BE READY for crazy things to happen. It’s harder to get thrown off when we are ready for whatever.  When we stay ON READY. Remember today that some of the craziest things happen when we are least expecting them. Anything can happen at any given time! God can give you that new job, that new raise, that healed body, whatever our hearts desire. So be ready, and have a wonderful Tuesday.

    Greeting Joycelyn,
I see my hometown is treating you very well. By the time the city is done with it’s embrace you will be a true “Urban Dweller” (smile). I miss you, but you are where you are to be at this wonderful time in your life! I want you to take some time and go to the Charles River and sit and watch the sail boats.

    Miss You,
    LaKetha
